HATS OFF

How cute is this!

I was browsing Zalora and I came upon these cute accessories for your dogs! I am seriously thinking of buying this chef’s hat for Jack!

There’s a smaller pink version too!

There’s a top hat for more formal occasions too! Like a Sir!

Here’s one for lady dogs! So cute!

Aww and if you plan to mate your dogs, make them wear this veil! Just like a wedding!

Also, I’m amazed by their models! They must be well trained to sit through a shoot!  If you’re a dog person, go to Zalora PH and get one (or all just because) for your pup!

THE SUN AND SURF

Our division had its annual Marketing Outing last week in Morong, Bataan. Let me tell you, a lot of things went wrong in this trip… but it was something still worth remembering because I was with good friends.

We had a stop over in Subic for a little bit of Duty Free shopping, and we had lunch at Meat Plus Cafe. The food was amazing! I was so full!

I had Grilled Chicken for lunch at Meat Plus Cafe. It was delicious!

My friends ordered Salmon with Lemon Butter sauce, and since they couldn’t finish off the entire fish, I happily obliged when they offered it to me.

Did a little bit of chocolate/grocery/liquor shopping at Duty Free before proceeding to Bataan.

We arrived in Morong, Bataan at around 2:00PM (which was the time I placed in my itinerary, yay!) The wind was blowing pretty strong so we flew a kite. Ang random lang!

Of course, we wouldn’t enjoy the day without games, so the games committee (myself included) devised a series of games that tested out their endurance, strength, and strategy. Survivor ang peg!

The games continued well into the night!

The next day, I tried swimming in the sea, but it was too dirty that I was only knee deep that I decided to just frolic around in the sand and take photos.

All I can say is, despite all the bad stuff that happened, I was with friends who made this outing, and the many more that we’re going to have, special. I wouldn’t mind sleeping in a tent (but please, don’t make me) the next time.

Looking back at these photos, I would remember the shitty resort we stayed at, but along with that memory comes the unforgettable ones that made this summer of 2012 perfect.

SUNSETVIEW BEACH RESORT: A RANT

I don’t really do reviews on places I’ve stayed at during vacation, but the resort where my colleagues and I stayed has prompted me to write about them.

Sunsetview Beach Resort in Bataan was the venue where our Annual Marketing Outing was held (pictures soon!). We selected the place by basing on the amenities and of course, the rates.

Sunsetview’s website listed all of the amenities that are expected of a budget resort. And so, long story short we booked 8 rooms for 29 people, and commissioned a buffet dinner and lunch for our group.

When we arrived at the resort, the heat was so sweltering that I wanted to go lie down and cool off with the air conditioner at full blast. Unfortunately, the air conditioner in our room was so weak that it took a full day for it to completely cool our room! Plus, it was dripping and we had to place a bucket so it won’t form a large puddle right in the middle of our door! Talk about safety hazard. I got fed up with the heat and complained to the front desk that our air conditioner was too weak. A guy “assisted” me by pushing random buttons on the air conditioner’s remote control (which did nothing, by the way), and finally said, “I’ll have it checked.” It never happened. Nobody came to our room to check.

As if the issue with the air conditioner wasn’t enough, the resort apparently also has a problem with running water, because our bathroom didn’t have any!

Now, I am not expecting much, after all I know our budget, but basic amenities like running water should not even be an issue! Imagine not being able to wash off the chlorine and the sea water from your body! Disgusting!

Finally, our lunch and dinner was supposedly buffet, but I didn’t feel like it was a buffet. Someone was controlling the portions given to us! Irita! When it comes to food, I don’t like being scrimped on! During our lunch, we asked for glasses, because the ones we’re using already has soda in it. The woman manning the buffet told us there are no more glasses! OMG a resort without glasses! She gave us this pathetic reason that they only have 28 glasses! Nakakairita talaga!

As guests, we expect the resort to make our stay comfortable, not aggravate us to the point of calling the owner. I mean, we’re not expecting first class service, just something for our money’s worth. We did not go there as freeloaders, we paid like everyone else did.

I am not being spiteful…. okay so maybe I am, it’s just that it pissed me off that a business like theirs, whose reputation really is via word of mouth, could have a staff and amenities so bad!

So here’s to you beach goers, if ever you’re in Bataan… please have the sense to do more research on the place you’re going to stay in.

LA DOLCE VITA

Tagaytay Highlands recently held a special massage day for moms in honor of Mother’s Day.

Moms were treated to a relaxing back or foot massage, and while they wait, sumptuous treats were served for their enjoyment. Their families are also in on the fun, kids and dads got artistic and made Mother’s Day cards and popsicle stick picture frames.

Nancy Gonzalez has always been tossed around by fashion-philes. It is a name synonymous to luxurious and yet simple bags.
Usually without hard embellishments, a Nancy Gonzalez carries itself with aplomb. The exotic skins used for the bags already make a statement.
This Crocodile tote in coral is an amazing piece, it can easily survive trends, and will look good whatever the era you are in.
Perfection is impossible in this world, but Nancy Gonzalez is already a little too close with this bag.
